Alisson Possa is a PhD researcher in constitutional law at the Instituto Brasileiro de Ensino, Desenvolvimento e Pesquisa (IDP) in Brasília (Brasil) in partnership with the DCU Law and Tech Research Cluster. He is currently writing his thesis, which focuses on digital sovereignty under the supervision of Professor Laura Schertel Mendes (IDP) and Dr Edoardo Celeste (DCU).
At the IDP School of Law, Alisson lectures on digital law, data protection and technology and society. He also coordinates interdisciplinary initiatives that bridge law, computer science and public policy.
Alisson is practising lawyer, specialising in constitutional litigation, data protection, and platform regulation. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and frequently advises companies on data protection compliance, cybersecurity governance and emerging regulatory frameworks for artificial intelligence in Brazil.
Alisson holds an LL.M. in Constitutional Law and a postgraduate specialisation in Digital Law, both from IDP. His recent work examines the intersection of constitutional theory, data sovereignty, and the geopolitical implications of digital infrastructures. He has contributed to Brazil’s ongoing debates on AI regulation and digital governance and has participated in public hearings in both the Chamber and Senate of Congress.
