From 30 June to 4 July, members of the DCU Law and Tech Research Cluster and the EPILDAI Network took part in the EMILDAI Summer School 2025, hosted by Universidad de León in Spain. The event brought together researchers and early-career scholars working across disciplines to explore the intersection of law, technology, and digital governance.
Reneé Knoop, Daniel Blanco, Victor Henriquez Diaz, Stefano Cafiero, Josafat Leyva Ferzuli, and Nauani Schades Benevides presented their ongoing research on a diverse and timely set of topics, including:
- AI-Powered Access to Environmental Information
- The Impact of Big Data and AI on the Spanish Tax Agency
- Critical Raw Materials for Digital Sovereignty
- AI and Financial Supervision
- AI and the EU’s Defence Strategy
- Digital Surveillance
The Summer School provided an engaging and supportive environment for participants to share ideas, receive feedback, and connect with peers and experts from across Europe and beyond.
Participants noted how valuable the experience was — not only for developing their individual research projects, but also for drawing inspiration from the high-quality work shared by fellow attendees.
We extend our sincere thanks to EMILDAI and Universidad de León for organising the Summer School and fostering such a dynamic space for exchange and collaboration.
This participation highlights the growing contribution of both the DCU Law and Tech Research Cluster and the EPILDAI Network to academic conversations at the intersection of law and technology.
